Once I'd let go he realized there was a problem. I let go of the float and had to catch my breath for a moment as I was just working myself up. He was under the water so he didn't see or hear me struggling. He then tried to get me to go on my front and hold onto the float while he lead us out but this just scared me into a panic as I hadn't had time to practice breathing due to being on my back most of the time and my mouth just kept filling with water. I was trying to say to the instructor that I wanted to get out and it wasn't for me but he kept telling me to just go with it. I started to just feel really silly as everyone else was managing it. The added equipment wasn't helping as it made it more challenging to move so I really should've mastered that first.

When back in the water I was still struggling to keep my legs down but still wasn't given much help by the instructor on how to deal with it. I must admit after I did it I was quite impressed with myself that I had done it. The instructor didn't seem to understand why I was hesitant. It was a little bit scary as a beginner to be asked to jump off the wall with all the weighted equipment on as I didn't know what kind of weight to expect when I got in which just caused more stress. We next prepared to go back in the water with all of the equipment on. We then got out and went over how to use our equipment which was well explained. My goggles kept steaming up so I couldn't see where he was instructing me to go but because he wasn't in the water I was telling him what was going wrong but he couldn't hear me well. He he kept telling me off for floating away from where he could see me from the wall but I couldn't help it. Unfortunately my flipper kept falling off due to the clip not closing properly and I was struggling to keep my legs down but I wasn't given much instruction on how to stop floating around which made me a little bit embarrassed Infront of the other people in our group. We then put on our flippers and goggles and was told to jump in while he got ready in his wet suit up the top. Not sure on his name as he refused to tell us which was a little out of the ordinary at least for people from the UK but he was an older gentleman. It was a bit of a wait for our instructor to get there as he said he was called in last minute. After about ten or so minutes we were moved to another group. We got down to the tables and was seated and given wetsuits. We met another man in the reception who was a bit unfriendly with us and not very welcoming when he went over our forms but this was partly our fault as we had ticked and crossed instead of writing yes or no as the receptionist had explained each section to us but really we should've just read it.
